A New Day // Maive's Journey (Open)

Ah, the simple life... Trainers seemed to take for granted how easy they had it sometimes. They could go wherever they wanted, they could do whatever they wanted, and they never had to worry about a thing like work. Perhaps it was that very reason why he hated children so much. While these arceus forsaken region may have a higher age minimum before they allowed the young to go out and about in the world with dangerous, disgusting creatures, they still took for granted the freedom it allowed. and he hated it. Maybe if his plan succeeded he could change the rules so that everyone must deal with the horrors of having and keeping a job before they could even think about independence and freedom. Independence? puh-lease. These snot-nosed brats are still dependent on their mangy mutts. Ah, but, who was he to say such a thing while he was lounging around on the back of a metagross as the hulking piece of scrap metal slowly walked down the path. each step the beast took caused heavy vibrations that shook the earth around them while leaving deep marks in the dirt and grass.

He let out a hum, drumming his fingers on the large, cracked keystone resting on his stomach. pale eyes stared up at the sky while he pursed his lips, puffing out his cheeks in annoyance. the day was far too happy. the birds were singing, the bugs were doing... bug things... really, it just annoyed him no matter what. maybe he should capture one of those weather beasts to bend the weather to his will, causing storms throughout the region. a grin stretched across his face at the thought. oh, wait, that was an unoriginal idea. team aqua already beat me to that. Oh! how wonderful it would have been to see hoenn swallowed by tidal waves and hurricanes! of course, no one ever said he couldn't used the ideas of others and... improve upon them. who needs a master of the sea when you could just make an army of dragons to do it for you?

The metagross came to a jerking halt, and the effeminate man sat up with a look of irritation crossing his face. "why have we stopped?" He turned over his shoulder to look at font of the metal creature, following the beast's glowing red gaze down the path. oh? a girl. probably a new trainer. oh~ how fun. Movement on his chest reminded him of the stone he had been holding, and he quickly reached up to grab the keystone before it could fall and potentially shatter. Nobody wanted the souls of hundreds of serial killers to escape from this rock. Of all the pokemon, the ghosts will be the hardest to get rid of without an exorcist.

It would seem that he had captured the attention of the young stranger down the path as well. the man swiveled around on the head of the metagross, crossing one leg over the other while dangling his slender, pale legs down the middle of the silver x-shaped formation on the metal monster's face. the metagross didn't even blink, used to its master's behavior. one hand cupped the keystone on his lap while the other hand moved behind him in order to support him as he leaned back a little. His head tilted to the side as he observed the person before him. Long blonde hair, bright blue eyes, pale skin, and soft, childish features. Either she was a teenager or one of those adult girls who appeared much younger than they actually were. doctors hate them! oh, those advertisements needed to burn in a volcanic pit.

His eyes traveled down to the Pokemon beside the blonde. an eevee? if he remembered correctly, those little balls of puff were originally considered rare until someone had the bright idea of overbreeding them and releasing a majority into the wild. wasn't that in kalos? he would have to ask his data department later on. tsk, just one more pest to deal with. with a smile gracing his lips, the blue haired man leaned forwards with feigned curiosity, but really he was just tired of this prolonged silence filled with stares. if he was going to be looked at, it better be with adoration rather than suspicion. "judging by your little friend, would i be correct to assume you are an upcoming breeder, my dear?" his voice flowed from his lips like velvet, masking any and all ill intentions behind a soothing voice like a songbird. Hm, perhaps he should have acquired an Altaria. It definitely would be a nice match for him: so delicate looking with a beautiful voice yet an underlying strength.

ah, but, then again, he was just full of himself.

Stuttering was very unbecoming of women. Somebody obviously needs to go through a few vocal lessons, perhaps a bit of theatre training. boost up that confidence, make your own presence, and speak up while in the company of another person. Goodness, it was a little hard to hear the child. He refused to remove himself from his perch on top of the dual type Pokemon, yet he did tap the monstrous chunk of metal with the hand holding him up. finger pads danced on the creature's shell with the softest of touches, and the metagross slowly lowered the central portion of its body, creating a horrid sound of bending metal that grated on the ears. It was almost as if someone as running their nails across a chalkboard. the only difference was that the metagross produced the sound at a slightly lower pitch. the effects were still the same, but the man did not flinch. his smile, however, disappeared and was replaced with a frown. looks like something needs to be oiled again.

"I should be asking you the same question, my dear." he brushed his pale blue bangs back over one ear, letting out a soft sigh as he straightened up. "I am song ji-eun, head of song incorporated. Ah, perhaps you know of my business?" the smile returned to his face. "we are here to better the relationship between humans and pokemon, making advancing strides towards happiness through any means necessary." it was the basic pitch often used in their promotional videos. his parents had started the business mass producing medicines and items for trainers as well as accessories, foods, and everything else anyone with a pokemon might desire. It was only recently that he had started building up the company's technological research, but, ah, the public was unaware of that little detail. transparency only went so far before he had managed to find a loophole in contracts, shareholders, etc.

as the wind picked up, he lifted a hand up to shield his eyes from his bangs as they dared to be tugged and pulled at by the air. he threaded his fingers through his hair, smoothing it back down before his hand dropped to rest on top of the keystone on his lap.

Mr. Song. Ah, that sounded so stuffy and bland. He would much rather have everyone call him lord song, master song, your highness, or your Majesty. getting a stranger to call him such would never work out, however. It was far easier to get his subordinates to bend to his will than it was a mere stranger. he would have to deal with being mister song for a while, at least until his hunk of metal transportation felt like moving around her. they were blocking the path, weren't they? hm, maybe he could get tolls set up somewhere... it would be fairly simple if he just went to the person who ran the region and said it would better the region or something. other regions use tolls, right? they provided the government money to do road maintenance or something, though their heavy taxing should be enough for that in the first place. Oh, look at him, getting lost in his own little world called his mind.

A groan emitted from the metagross, and a quick glance down confirmed that the monster had finally focused its gaze on something other than empty spaces. the glowing red orbs had moved down ever so slightly to focus on the eevee, yet the metal Pokemon made no other movement besides that, keeping perfectly still while its master made himself comfortable on top. He should really get a cushion or something fastened to the head of the metagross to make his rides more appealing without stiffening his muscles during prolonged rides. His fingers drummed against the keystone resting on his lap, running his finger pads over the rough exterior while he thought. "why am i here?" he pondered aloud, tilting his head to the other side, pursing his lips, and looking off to the sky.

"escaping work," he finally decided, nodding to himself. "speaking of," he reached into the pocket of his shorts, pulling out a sleek, pale blue phone. He pressed a few buttons before locking the phone. "ugh, stupid laws and not being able to fly a perfectly capable hunk of metal without either a license or a hidden machine. i might as well just get training to be a pilot and call you a plane, techno." the blue haired man groaned while sitting up a little straighter. His eyes narrowed at the blonde girl while a grin stretched across his face. "say, did'ja know that metagross can fly? the league is just too stubborn to recognize a machine capable of taking a bird's job. not like it doesn't already happen already." as if to prove his point, he pat the side of the head he was resting on. red eyes began to glow brightly as the hulking machine lifted off the ground, tucking its legs beneath it and maintaining its position in the air. "well, it's more like manipulating gravity, unlike how a golurk seems to be made of jet fuel or how a bird uses its wings. techno here can easily rival those dumb chickens and statues." ugh, why would they let the clay figures fly freely with their trainers but not the machines?

Why didn't he just bend the politicians to his will? Well, it would obviously draw a lot of attention towards him. He already had enough from running a company, and he did not need any negative attention that might cause people to start digging a little deeper. He could take care of paparazzi and hackers, but it was always such a pain to deal with anyone who felt like snooping around. He would need to make certain that they went through and heightened their security, both physically and virtually, regardless of his actions. The human race became suspicious all too easily. Maybe I should just get rid of them as well. At least, those who showed even the slightest sign of opposing them. Hm, he could get his science nerds to start a little project towards making some sort of formula, machine, or something that could locate and eliminate anyone with even the slightest chance at going against him. that's actually a wonderful idea!

"Oh, i'm sure it will change in due time, my dear." He thumped the metagross on the side and slid his hand up the metal exterior. The metagross reacted by lifting higher into the sky, making it so that the path was no longer blocked by its large frame. "if you have anywhere to be, you should go ahead, darling. I have transportation coming shortly to get back to the office." He leaned forwards so he could peer over the metagross and down at the blonde haired girl, a kind smile still on his features. "if you need anything, feel free to call. i'm sure you can find my contact information online, though my secretary might pick up first." oh, how kind he was! anything to help out the young and the novices. it leaves a foul taste in my mouth. he glanced down at his phone and sent off another text to the unknown contact, requesting a latte upon the time the arrived. that should be able to remove the taste.
