Lani is generally a curious Pokemon, happy to explore any area she is in. She can be a little weary of new Pokemon and people upon first encounter, but over time, she can become rather open around them - and even a tad motherly around Pokemon younger than she is.

Alilani is a rather loyal Pokemon - especially towards her trainer, who one can tell she adores. She is rarely away from her trainer, and is more often than not outside of her Pokeball. On most occasions, she can be found sitting on her trainer's shoulders or piggy backing her, especially during the daytime.

'What? An earth quake?... No, it's a cave in! Quick, trainer - I will cover you!'

Lani does not entirely feel as though she were born like other Pokemon were. Rather, she feels as though she were created.

The duel type had woken up suddenly - as if from a dream about falling - to a deep, dark cave. She was blind for the first few days after her creation; forced to hear the Pokemon she would call her friends scurry around her, terrifying her with their cries. Eventually, Lani began sniffing out the many gems that would become part of her main diet. Her gem-like eyes grew, and she began to see the life the stirred around her.

Lani lived in the caves for many a year, eluding trainers by keeping to the deeper, more dangerous part of the caves. This was Lani's natural habitat, and she fit well here. It wasn't until a few years later where she eventually let her guard slip.

She had ventured into the more 'shallow' parts of the caves, hoping to find edible items that wandering trainers had accidentally dropped. While hunting, she had eventually been caught by human life. At first, she fled, hoping to avoid a fight. But as she began to realize that she had essentially trapped herself in, she tried to fight back - only to find herself in a Pokeball, scared and alone.

She had been sad at first, and missed her home in the caves. Her new humans did not seem to realize this, yet she could not blame them; they could not understand Pokespeech like some. So for the most part, Alilani - for that was what the blue haired girl had began calling her shortly after being caught - and her new trainer spent little time together; Lani unwillingly keeping to her whenever she was home from school in the hopes of staying inside.

After a while, they began to go on walks to her home, and she felt happy again. They never stayed too long, but often let Lani run freely while they were there, and forge for stones like she once had. It felt odd that these humans were so nice to her; although she wasn't entirely too sure why, she did not like humans at first, like many of her friends in the caves had. But they did not seem so bad; quite the opposite in fact. Especially the blue haired girl, who appeared happy whenever she was.

Of course, old habits die hard. Being stuck in a cave most of her known life made her skittish around the outside world. While she was often keen to following one of the humans around - more so Lily, since the Pokemon
